Underwater Navigator Specialty Instructor


Philosophy

With this course you will help your future scuba student divers to use underwater navigation successfully during their diving and to help them develop the skills, knowledge and techniques necessary to safely participate in uw navigation activities.

Priorities in the course:

  • planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards of underwater navigation,
  • methods of estimating distances underwater,
  • natural navigation techniques,
  • using underwater patterns,
  • dive site relocation techniques,
  • compass navigation techniques.
Prerequisites

Be a renewed PADI Assistant Instructor (or higher rating) or have completed an IDC/OWSI within the last 12 months.

Duration

One day including one open water dive.

  • PADI Specialty Student Manual for UW Navigation,
  • PADI Specialty Instructor Outline for UW Navigation,
  • in addition to your dive gear also compass, nav-finder, 30m line.
