Underwater Videographer Specialty Instructor


Philosophy

With this course you will introduce your future scuba student divers and snorkelers develop the knowledge, skills and practical techniques necessary to the selection, use and care of underwater videography equipment, and the basic principles of underwater video production.

Priorities in the course:

  • selection, maintenance, care and handling of underwater video equipment,
  • safe diving practices while using underwater video equipment,
  • exposure, focus, and maintaining color with video equipment,
  • shot types, lengths and camera moves,
  • developing a story line and shot sequencing,
  • planning, organization, procedures, techniques and problems of underwater videography.
Prerequisites

Be a renewed PADI Assistant Instructor (or higher rating) or have completed an IDC/OWSI within the last 12 months.

Duration

One day including one open water dive.

Materials

  • PADI Specialty Instructor Outline for Underwater Video,
  • in addition to your dive gear also a video camera, underwater housing & optionally light or lighting.
