Four Seasons PADI Five Star IDC Centres at Landaa Giraavaru and Kuda Huraa are the only resort operated dive schools in the Maldives. They offer an alternative approach to instructor training through a twelve week internship program that also includes IDC, EFRI and PADI Instructor Examination.

The internship program kicks off four weeks before the start of the IDC with training theory as well as skills. It includes dive theory practice in physics, physiology, skills and environment, dive equipment, decompression theory and dive planning. Candidates have the opportunity to train skills from the divemaster skill circuit and rescue course as well and spend some extra time on complex skills such as CESA. Time before the IDC is also spent on getting to know the dive center operation, how the dive shop works as well as an orientation to the compressor room operations. First four weeks of internship are followed by two weeks of full IDC programme including the final Instructor Exammination conducted by PADI EMEA.

After successful completion of the IDC and IE the internship candidates, now fresh scuba instructors, have the opportunity to team teach with more experienced instructor in the Four Seasons team. Programs include Discover Scuba Diving as well as entry level scuba courses, which can later also be taught independently if the candidates show a certain level of readiness. Training also includes equipment maintenance workshops.

The internship programme concludes with a CV and job application workshops and an exit interview where the candidates complete a testimonial of the whole twelve week experience.
